BUZZ is one of the most successful Seacart 30s ever built (hull #4) and, over the past few years, certainly one of the most successful small multihulls on the UK racing circuit. She has won numerous inshore and offshore events, including Cowes Week and the MOCRA Championships, with one of her previous owners.
In the hands of her last owner, BUZZ won the RORC Offshore Championship in 2018, 2019, and the shortened 2020 series. She has taken several line honours against the entire RORC fleet, including the Cherbourg Race in 2018 and 2019. In the 2019 Fastnet Race, she finished as the 4th MOCRA multihull in an impressive 2 days and 19 hours, setting a new sub-40ft multihull record in the process.
BUZZ underwent a major refit in 2018, including:
The revised deck layout was designed by Peter Hobson (Hugo Boss 7 Design Team Leader) together with Hamble-based rigger Scott Cavanaugh, with the specific aim of making the boat easier and more efficient to sail in both inshore and offshore events. The sail wardrobe was specifically designed and built by Ullman and Doyle Sails. The mainsail was made by Dale Mitchell of “Morticia,” Australia’s leading Seacart 30, and the headsails were produced by Doyle NZ, the same team that built the sails for Hugo Boss 7.
In 2023, the current owner further optimized the boat for easy single-handed sailing by adding:
In 2024, the beams, rudder bar and cassettes, rudder blades, daggerboard, companionway hatch, and amas were re-varnished, and the center hull was polished.
Throughout 2024 and 2025, the boat was stored indoors at the yard, as the current owner was occupied with his other boats. At the beginning of the 2026 season, she presents in outstanding condition and looks like new.
