Boat Overview

De Hogstean, sailing under the German flag, is a versatile work vessel measuring 26 meters in length. Built in 1985 in Husum, Germany, it serves as a solid and proven work platform, ideal for coastal operations and technical missions. The vessel underwent an extensive refit in 2019/2020, significantly enhancing its appeal for an owner or operator seeking a reliable, operational, and immediately deployable vessel. With a length of 26.00 meters, a width of 7.20 meters, and a shallow draft of only 1.50 meters, the ship offers excellent accessibility and broad usability, particularly in coastal and harbor areas.

Specifications

  • Tonnage: 156 GT

  • Classification: DNV-GL 100 A5 MC, valid until March 2029

  • Last Special Survey: April 2024

  • Certification: Area A1, suitable for coastal trade

  • Deck Area: Approximately 60 m²

Propulsion and Power

The propulsion is provided by two Cummins N14M engines, each with a power output of 466 kW, achieving a maximum speed of approximately 12 knots. For operational tasks, there is an optimal working speed between 3 and 10 knots, ideal for inspection and intervention work. The vessel is also equipped with a bow thruster, significantly improving maneuverability in ports and precision during positioning. The energy supply and operational capacity are supported by multiple auxiliary generators, including one unit of 130 kW and three additional units of 40 kW, 40 kW, and 38 kW, ensuring reliable power for onboard installations and operational needs.

Handling and Support Equipment

For handling and support, the Hogstean is equipped with powerful lifting devices, including two remote-controlled cranes. The Atlas 2201A3 offers a lifting capacity of 3.76 tons at 4.5 meters, while the Palfinger PK100 has a capacity of 1.28 tons at 4.4 meters. For mooring, the vessel is equipped with two bow anchors and has the option for a three-point mooring, which is particularly valued for operations requiring a stable position. The onboard accommodation can accommodate up to seven people, with a layout of three single cabins and two double cabins, providing a comfortable solution for crew and technicians.

Previous Use and Flexibility

The vessel was previously used for research activities but is now offered without installed or included research equipment, allowing the buyer full flexibility to customize the vessel to their own needs and missions. The Hogstean represents an interesting and rare opportunity to acquire a classified work vessel that is well-sized, excellently equipped with lifting gear, recently refitted, and has up-to-date classification, making it particularly suitable for coastal operations, technical support, inspections, or light maritime logistics.
