Upon purchasing Delphine, a thorough refit of key elements was completed, including:
Improvements continued each year, including:
The engines are flushed with fresh water after haul-out, and the oil is changed every year, regardless of hours. The outboard is serviced annually and stored in a climate-controlled location along with the tender. New sails were bent on at the time of purchase and stored in a climate-controlled environment for nine months each year. Sun covers and back screen (2022) are included.
Delphine features a custom storage cover, running rigging changed, and updated electronics, including:
The upgraded solar array on a tilting custom rack provides 960 watts of charging to the never-used Victron lithium 300 amp hour battery bank. This power allows for morning toast, water all day, ice as needed, and keeps the custom-fitted Engel drinks cooler in the cockpit running. The 230-volt inverter operates the washing machine.
Other work includes:
The copper coat bottom paint works well and was worth the investment. All work was done by licensed professionals in Grenada. Improvements have been made every year, including in 2023 when the standing rigging was changed and the new lithium battery was fitted.
In the 12 years of ownership, Delphine spent 4 seasons out of the water and the other 8 were 3-month stints. This is why the sails and canvas are in very good condition.
After purchasing the yacht, the owner discovered a 2004 copy of Multihull International featuring Delphine on the cover, noting she had won that year's ARC. The owner had previously admired her while sailing near Bequia. Delphine has been sailed up the Caribbean from Anguilla with numerous stops along the way. She is a comfortable cruising boat with a deep, safe cockpit, easily handled by two, and offers ample creature comforts for cruising.
Delphine has won her division at the inaugural Caribbean Multihull Challenge in St Marten and twice in Grenada Sailing week. She is a wonderful sailing boat that turns heads everywhere and has provided a safe, strong, and fast experience over 12 years and 5000 miles of sailing. Built by sailors for sailors, Delphine is ready to take you wherever you wish.
