Southerly 110 “Norman James”
Norman James is a 2006 Southerly 110, hull #60, built by Northshore with strong cruising ability and proven comfort. Her hydraulically lifting keel is controlled from the helm and reduces the draft to only 0.7 m. With the keel raised, she can settle safely on her cast-iron grounding plate, giving access to shallow bays and drying harbours.
Her Southerly Blue topsides and Ivory White finish give her a classic look. Biscuit non-slip areas add secure footing on deck. The interior features solid American Cherry joinery with Indigo upholstery in the saloon and Sand tones in the cabins. The stern cabin holds a large double berth. The forecabin offers a single berth that converts to a double. The saloon table also drops to form another generous double, creating flexible sleeping options for guests.
More than £11,000 was spent on upgrades in 2023–2024. These include a TecSew sprayhood, bimini, and stackpack, plus full replacement of sanitary hoses. A new heat exchanger and exhaust elbow were fitted. A new bow-thruster motor, depth transducer, and fresh gas piping were also installed. Northshore moved the mainsheet track to the coach roof, which opens up space in the cockpit. Stainless steel Simson swivelling davits support easy tender handling.
For extended voyaging, she carries the standard 205-litre water tank and an extra switchable 105-litre tank. A holding tank is also fitted. She was lifted, compounded, polished, and waxed in June 2025. Norman James is located in Chichester Marina and is ready for confident, comfortable cruising.
