Automatic, sold from Switzerland by Gübelin on December 17, 1985, 2-piece case, 4-fold side protection, sapphire crystal, gray-blue, horizontally striped dial with luminous baton indices & GÜBELIN signature, baton hands, dotted minute track, date at 3, high-quality automatic movement, Geneva Seal, central rotor with 21k gold segment, 36 jewels, free-sprung, shock-resistant, Caliber 28-255C, Geneva stripes, dimensions approx. 42 x 44 mm, length approx. 19 cm, defective PPC case included, EZ 1-2, this original model celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2016, only about 1500 pieces in gold produced between 1976 and 1990, from collection liquidation.

From 1976 to 1980, cases for Patek Philippe were manufactured by Favre-Perret SA, Le Crêt du Locle. In 1980, Patek Philippe began producing cases and bracelets in its Reunit Workshops, and the Nautilus changed its reference number to the new Ref. 3700/11, like this example with a narrower, conical bracelet. Similar to the original Ref. 3700, initially offered in stainless steel, the 3700 in yellow gold is rarer to find. Researchers estimate that only 250 units of the 3700/011 were made. To increase its rarity, the watch was sold by the esteemed Swiss retailer Gübelin in 1985!
