Mercedes-Benz 280 TE, richly equipped and documented

The Mercedes-Benz 123 as a T-model (S123) is a classic upper-middle-class station wagon and one of the most reliable vehicles of its time. The "T" stands for "Touring" and refers to the station wagon variant of the popular 123 series, which was produced from 1976 to 1985. The 280TE was the top model among the gasoline engines and was powered by a 2.8-liter inline-six engine with around 185 HP. It was known for its durability, easy maintenance, and solid craftsmanship. With its practical body shape, the 280TE offered generous cargo space, making it especially popular among families and craftsmen. Typical of the 123 were the timeless design, comfortable driving behavior, and high safety equipment for its time – including optional ABS and reinforced body structure. Today, the 280TE is considered a sought-after classic and is highly popular among vintage car enthusiasts due to its robustness and charm. This 280TE was first registered in October 1984 by a Swiss restaurateur in Zurich.
