MAELDUIN was supplied by this office and is still in her original ownership. Other than the odd cruise to Northern Spain she has remained in Northern European waters and can now be viewed close to the place of her birth on the Island of Orust on the west coast of Sweden.

With the right specification, an HR54 is a very versatile yacht and MAELDUIN is wanting for nothing making her suitable for long-distance short-handed sailing or coastal sailing with the whole family aboard. She has the performance of a modern German Frers design with the comfort of a traditional Hallberg-Rassy, call now to arrange viewing we recommend an early appointment to avoid dissappointment.

Accommodations

All interior woodwork in light mahogany matt silk finish.  Locker doors with rounded edges and ventilation above.  Floor is varnished teak with inlaid holly strips. The hull is lined with varnished mahogany slats for ventilation and insulation  Saloon and aft cabin deckhead has panelling with mahogany strips. All mattrasses and cushions, upholstered in durable fabric and resting on unvarnished, well ventilated boards to avoid condensation.  The boat is carpeted throughout, except directly in front of the galley.  Portlights are fitted with beige curtains.  Ocean Air skyscreens fitted under deck hatches in saloon, forward cabin, starboard side cabin and aft cabin.  Red night lights over galley and chart table.

SALOON:
On the starboard side a 2.35m long L-sofa that has backrests with hinges so that the space behind can be used as stowage.  The sofa corner is rounded.  On port side is a full length berth back rest hinged to make a wider berth. Stowage behind above and below saloon seating.  Dropleaf table with bottle stowage in the centre. stereo/CD/DVD ipod interface with five speaker amplifier. Headroom in saloon 2.02m and opening ports in the Coach roof for fantastic ventilation in warmer climates.

GALLEY:
In walk through to aft cabin Portside.  Working surface in Corian with strong, all round fiddle rail.  Two insulated toploading boxes with baskets, one fridge and one freezer.  Fridge and freezer compressors are sea water cooled.  Extra deep, double sink.  Gimballed 3 burner Force 10 elec. cooker with oven.  LG microwave oven with stainless steel front. Crockery locker and cutlery drawer.  Slide out Bread board.  Room for saucepans and other kitchen utensils.

FORWARD HEADS COMPARTMENT:
Bulkheads and lockers in white formica.  Teak grating, Corian wash basin and Corian countertops.   There is a large mirror.  Separate shower with watertight shower stall, plexi glass doors.  Electric shower waste pump.  Electric toilet.  Stainless steel 80 litres holding tank, emptied by gravity or by deck pump out.  lockers above and below washbasin. Washing machine. Ventilation through opening porthole and hatch.

FORWARD CABIN:
One 2.12m long double berth with ample stowage above and below in addition to a number of smaller lockers.  Large deck hatch for light, ventilation and access for sails.  Dorade vent on fore deck.

STARBOARD CABIN:
Twin bunk berth cabin with stowage under lower berth lockers above. Opening Port and deck hatch and full length hanging locker, vanity and mirror.

CHART TABLE
Double seat with spacious chart table. lifting lid chart towage under, book shelves behind navigators seat A shelf above and space for mounting instruments.  Five drawers and stowage slots. 

AFT CABIN:
Double berth to stbd single berth to port with seat between stowage beneath berths and in lockers above, three opening and one fixed window in the coach roof with a large opening deck hatch, vanity unit with seat to starboard.

AFT HEADS:
Bulkheads and lockers in white formica.  Teak grating, Corian wash basin, Corian countertops and two large mirrors.  Separate shower with watertight shower stall, plexi glass doors.  Electric shower waste pump.  Electric toilet.  Stainless steel 80 litres holding tank, emptied by gravity or by deck pump out. Cupboard above and below washbasin.  Ventilation through opening porthole.

Spars And Sails

Silver anodised, triple spreader rig by Seldén. Seldén hydraulic Furlinmast, hydraulic furling headsail and hydraulic furling inner fore stay. Inner forestay supported by Jumper struts on the mast and fitted with running backstays. Hydraulic backstay tensioner and boom vang with the panel in cockpit. Three selftailing halyard winches on the mast. Whisker pole stored against mast with topping lift. Spinnaker halyard. Turnbuckles and aluminium protection tubes from Seldén. Windex.

SAILS:
Furling mainsail, by North Sails.
Furling genoa, by North Sails with UV protection.
Furling staysail by North sails with UV protection.

Engine And Electrics

Walk-in sound insulated engine room.  Engine: Volvo Penta D4-180, 132 kW/180 HP marine diesel engine fresh water cooled with balance shafts, common rail fuel injection, double overhead camshafts and four valves per cylinder. Gori 3-bladed propeller with fixed 3-bladed propeller as spare.   Aqua Drive flexible coupling.

Sleipner Side Power 15.5HP bowthruster.

DIESEL:
900 litres in two stainless steel tanks, below the floor in saloon with fuel gauge.  The tanks are filled through deck inlets.  The cruising range in calm waters is approximately 1200 nautical miles.

WATER:
Water capacity is approximately 1030 litres below the floor in the saloon in stainless tanks with a water gauge.  75 litres hot water calorifier heated by 230v immersion element and the engine.  Filling of water tanks is through deck inlet.  Carbon filter for the fresh water system.  Reserve fresh water foot pump at galley.  Three bilge pumps; one manual, one electric and one high capacity electric emergency bilge pump (operated from the cockpit).

Enwa MT 3200 Watermaker 120lts/hr with automatic flushing system.

ELECTRICITY:
Three separate battery banks:
12 volt 140Ah battery dedicated to engine start
24 volt 420Ah for general 24v use on board, covered by eight 6 v 210Ah semi traction
12 volt 210Ah for general 12v use on board, covered by two 6 v 210Ah Semi traction
12 volt charging is by one 140A 12v engine driven alternator or one
24volt charging is by one 110A 24v engine driven alternator and two Mastervolt 4kw combi charger inverterr. 24volt monitoring by Mastervolt remote charger panel and Mastervolt MICC.

230volt 50hz shore power system with shore power cable, galvanic isolator and consumer unit with RCD and breakers for individual circuits including 230v ring main.
230volt 50hz Mastervolt Whisper 8 Ultra low revving diesel generator, fitted with super silent gas water seperator in the exhaust and mounted in its own soundshield in a sound proofed engine room.

International navigation lights, steaming light and Lopolight LED combined tricolour/anchor light at masthead.

HEATING:
Two Webasto Airtop 3500 diesel heaters, 3.5kW, with outlets in saloon, forward cabin, starboard cabin, heads compartments and aft cabin.  The heaters are installed in the engine room.  All outlets, except in the saloon, can be regulated separately.

REFRIGERATION:
Two water cooled Isotherm SP systems with 24v Danfoss compressor units, one for refrigeration and one for freezer. The freezer has a double thermostat, enabling use of the freezer as fridge if required.
