Offline provides the safety and security of a famous, bluewater open-ocean yacht while offering state-of-the-art integrated technology. This includes digital charts, autopilot, and a Fusion audio system that announces your position to other ships and displays theirs.
The Island Packet 349 features a spacious, modern galley equipped with a huge refrigerator/freezer, solid surface countertops, and an extra-large sink. The open, airy salon, adorned with rich African Sapele wood, is illuminated by dimmable LEDs that extend to the large forward stateroom and separate aft cabin. The comfortable and secure cockpit is fitted with both seat and back cushions.
An electric winch raises the main sail at the touch of a button, while the electric windlass raises the anchor effortlessly. The Jet thrusters at the bow utilize powerful water jets, replacing traditional loud bow thrusters, making maneuvering and docking easy and silent. Additionally, the brand new generator provides heating and air conditioning even when anchored.
The dual forward sails, both new, include a large, powerful furling asymmetrical sail that enhances speed while maintaining a safe, heavy design, which Practical Sailor describes as “built like a tank.”
The new Island Packet 349 is the latest in nearly 40 years of continuous evolution of Island Packet designs, focusing on safety, seakeeping, performance, ease of handling, cruising comfort, build quality, and value. The proprietary Full Foil Keel hull design offers an unmatched combination of safety and stability, moderate draft, and passage-making performance. These features have been proven in various conditions, from solo circumnavigations to race-winning offshore performance.
The 349 is designed with a Solent style sloop rig featuring roller furling for both the main and jib. The jib’s standard Hoyt Boom provides two key advantages: it acts like a vang for the jib, maintaining leach tension, and simplifies tacking with a single jib sheet. The Solent design allows for an optional reacher just forward of the jib for enhanced performance off the wind or in light conditions, which can also be fitted with roller furling if desired.
On deck, the 349 includes practical features from stem to stern that define an Island Packet, along with evolutionary upgrades. The integral bow platform is equipped with a patented anchor roller for immediate use and secure stowage. Raised cap rails on side decks and full-length cabin top handrails enhance security. Ergonomically designed cockpit seats provide comfort for lounging or sleeping under the stars, and side steps on the stern platform facilitate access to the cockpit. A pocket swim ladder is integrated below the platform for easy boarding from the water.
The 349’s interior features two comfortable and well-separated staterooms. The forward stateroom includes private access to the head compartment, a dressing seat, hanging locker, and a Pullman berth with storage underneath. The head compartment features a vanity, push-button electric head, and a shower area with an integrally molded seat. The saloon utilizes Island Packet’s trademark retractable dining table, allowing for a dining or open social area. The port settee converts to a double berth, while the starboard settee includes a center table for navigation or can be converted to a full-length cushion. The galley is conveniently located near both the saloon and cockpit, featuring an electric refrigerator and freezer box, solid surface counters, and ample storage. Numerous opening ports, overhead hatches, and fixed ports in the hull provide ample light and ventilation.
The 349 is ideal for those seeking a vacation or weekend retreat or embarking on distant voyages. Nearly four decades of experience and continuous improvement based on advancing technologies and owner feedback have positioned these fine yachts in a class by themselves.
