Mercedes 280S Automatic W108

After the new S-Class with the 250 engine already established itself, the 280 version was released at the end of 1967 as both a carbureted and fuel-injected version. The vehicle offered here is the 140 PS carbureted version.

In December 1968, a doctor in Witten probably gave himself a Christmas gift and had the car registered on December 4, 1968.
Fourteen years later, the car was registered to the wife, and three years later to another gentleman in Witten, who drove the car for several years.
Then the car was deregistered for a long time, received a sheet metal repair about 5 years ago, and was repainted in the original color. It also features a different interior in green artificial leather. This green matches the white paint excellently and is a departure from the usual blue.

The engine starts well when cold and warm, and responds very well to the gas pedal. The suspension also makes a good impression on the road. The automatic transmission is still the early version with hydraulic clutch, also known among enthusiasts as "Ruckomat," which sometimes shifts quite harshly. This transmission here is no exception.
The valve stem seals were recently replaced.
Engine oil and transmission oil have been recently changed.

The vehicle previously had an H registration, currently runs on a 07 plate. The old paper registration document is available. A Classic Data report with a rating of 3+ is also available.
